The little big thing 14.0

On #thelittlebigthingsthatmakeushealthy.

They sat facing each other in the danfo yesterday.

Third row, second and third seats.

These two ears.

The left ear of the slim brunette on the polka dot dress, and the right ear of the plump blonde on the burgundy dress.

“How did today go for you na? What did you hear?” Left ear asked, its pearl drop gem stone gleaming as the danfo passed a traffic light.

“Omo, the kain shame wey catch me eh? I couldn’t even hear the word of God well. Can you believe that no sponge has touched me in almost 12 years? Who I offend na?” Right ear asked rhetorically.

Shaking with laughter, Left ear responded: “My guy, if we start asking every ear inside here, I’m sure some cases are worse than yours. Personally, I stopped counting the years a while back. I’m glad I get washed once in a while. It’s better than nothing… Leaving that other talk, what did you hear last week?” and just like that they moved on to everythings and nothings in the world of ears.

When last did you sponge your ears?

As always, yunno I’m rooting for your health.

It’s crazy how insomnia is idolized by many writers and go-getters.
It’s almost a mark of honor and repute to be insomniac.

Fam, if you truly desire to lead a healthy life, you must realize that some nights are for allowing yourself be human.

Like tonight… Just pack up the devices. Close your eyes, and lose it. Allow your body recuperate. It deserves that much.

As always, I’m rooting for your health. πŸ₯‚

Oya oh, gist is served. 😁

So the little-big-thing we looked at last is sleep; we’re still on the matter.

Some memories ehn, they just make you reassured that no matter what, God no go shame us. πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
This is one of them.

It was the first day of the Part 1 MBBS exam(our first professional exam), and as the custom is we began with Anatomy theory.

The night before, I crossed t’s and dotted i’s over and again, but I still did not feel ready. Everywhere I turned there was a new material to jack or one strange information from a senior colleague tagged “important”, so I kept filling my head till 7am of the exam day.

Sitting on my bed (upbunk) my eyes were hurting and my vision became increasingly blurred as my head pounded, so I took off my glasses to rest for a bit, plugged in one of my recorded gross materials and leaned against the wall.

Of course you have an idea of what happened next. πŸ˜‚

As always, the intention never comes through. I planned to shower by 7:20 and by all means make it to school by 8am.

Brethren and sisthren, to Jesus be my glory, for I awoke an hour and some minutes later and lo, the hostel was quiet.

I wondered what was going on.

Everyone had left for exams. My roommates, who coincidentally were my classmates too, amazing humans, had locked the door thinking everyone was out.

Thankfully, we all had a key, if not… Hehehe.

I became flash that day. πŸ˜‚

Waking at 9am, I rushed to shower, got dressed, did the “Moore-road journey” and arrived in school at a time I do not recall. It was a grand entry. πŸ˜‚

Everyone was seated already, papers had been shared and exams had started.

I was sent to a different hall to write as the invigilators suspected I was waiting for answers before turning up for the exams. 🀦

I wish that’s how my ordeal ended, though, because when I finally got my sheets, the whole Jack Bauer stunt I was pulling got to me: letters were dancing in my booklet, stuff was jumping inside my head and a host of other activities all at once.

I had to rest my head for a few minutes to settle my thoughts before I began writing. As always, God no dey shame us. 😁

It came out good, but…

That day I learned the hard way not to work myself into overdrive.

Don’t wait to learn the hardway. Schedule rest periods for yourself intermittently.

I’m rooting for your health. πŸ₯‚

With love,
